I graduated from University of Ljubljana Medical School in 2002 and received my PhD in 2006 (thesis "Regional citrate anticoagulation during hemodialysis"). I finished residency in Internal medicine and Nephrology. Currently I am associate professor at Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana and head of Center for Acute and Complicated Dialysis and Vascular Access at Department of Nephrology, University Medical Center Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia. I am involved in clinical work and research mainly in the fields of acute and chronic hemodialysis, apheresis, interventional nephrology, ultrasonography and vascular access surgery. My current clinical and research focus is vascular access surgery and ultrasonography. I published almost 60 articles in SCI journals and I am editorial board member at BMC Nephrology.
