David Soffer received his medical degree from Semmelweis University of Hungary, summa cum laude. Dr. Soffer completed his pediatric residency training at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, NY, and then completed a combined neonatal-perinatal and bioethics fellowships at Harvard Medical School. His interests in bioethics focus broadly on instilling and assessing ethical principles, interpersonal competence, and knowledge in medical trainees who counsel parents of critically ill newborns. Dr. Soffer is currently a neonatologist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children\'s Nebraska Hospital. In addition to his clinical duties in the Neonatal ICU, he investigates paradigm changes regarding the goals of care for infants born with congenital renal failure and perspectives among families.
