Dr. Connie Rhee, MD, MSc is a nephrologist, physician-scientist, Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and Chief of Nephrology at the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Dr. Rhee completed her medical school training at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and her residency and Chief Residency at the Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Rhee subsequently pursued her clinical nephrology fellowship and postdoctoral research training at the combined Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital nephrology fellowship program, and also completed her Master of Science in Epidemiology degree program at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Rhee leads a robust research program centered on the intersection of kidney disease, nutrition, and endocrinology/metabolism that has been supported by multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Kidney Foundation, American Thyroid Association, and industry grants in which she has served as the Principal Investigator, including four active NIH R01 grants. She also mentors a wide cadre trainees in the areas of nephrology, nutrition science, endocrinology/metabolism, public health, biostatistics, and related disciplines.
