DanielDe Florian
Daniel de Florian received a PhD in Physics from Universidad de La Plata (1995),and did postdocs at CERN and ETH-Zurich. He is a Full Professor at Universidad Nacional de San Martín, Senior Researcher at Conicet and Director of the Institute of Physical Sciences. He published about 200 scientific articles, one book, and was advisor of dozens of students. His research involves elementary particle physics and his calculations for the production of the Higgs boson were essential to the discovery and establishment of its properties at the Large Hadronic Collider. He was the leader of the LHC Higgs Working Group between 2013 and 2016 and has coordinated its theory group ever since. He was honored with the Houssay (2005), Academia de Ciencias (2007), American Physical Society (2008), Guggenheim (2008), The World Academy of Sciences (2014), von Humboldt (2016) and Konex (2023) awards, among others. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Argentina and Latin America.
