Dr. Hsiao is the founder of a community outreach program called” Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP)”. She has been the Associate director of Harvard Summer Research Program in Kidney Medicine. Dr. Hsiao has received numerous awards for her outstanding clinical work, teaching and mentoring including the Starfish Award for commitment to excellent patient care and teamwork; the Harvard Clifford Barger Young Mentor Award for her teaching abilities; the HMS Community Service Faculty Award in recognition of her community service through KDSAP. And in 2021, National Kidney Foundation honored her as a Nephrologist of the year who has made an impact in reducing health disparities. Women In Nephrology (WIN) established “Li-Li Hsiao Leadership Fellowship Award” in honor her longstanding leadership and her role in advancing leadership in the community on behalf of patients. Dr. Hsiao was the inaugural Editor-In-Chief of ISN Academy. Currently, she is a member of ISN North American Board representing North America and Caribbean. She is also the Chair of World Kidney Day Joint Steering Committee (WKD-JSC).
