A/Prof Nicola Wearne is the head of Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town South Africa. She is also the head of the peritoneal dialysis and HIV renal clinic in the division. She completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and undergraduate Medical degree at the University of Sydney. Both her Physician training and Certificate of Nephrology were completed at Groote Schuur hospital [University of Cape Town]. She has clinical and research interests in both HIV associated kidney disease and peritoneal dialysis. She has published in both peer review journals and book chapters in these areas as well as in the area of dialysis allocation and Kidney supportive and palliative care and conservative kidney management . She currently actively practices in all areas of nephrology She is very involved in the education of both undergraduate and post graduate students.
