Carmen. Avila-Casado M.D., PhD - Biographic Sketch Dr Avila-Casado Chair of the ISNRenal pathology Working Group, has the rank of Professor at the University of Toronto, Staff Renal Pathologist, Director of Education and Director of the Renal Pathology Program at the Toronto General Hospital- UHN. Past Secretary of the Renal Pathology Society and currently Co-leader of CEPR and faculty GlomCon. Her academic interests encompass diagnostic renal pathology, teaching, and research. She has trained many international renal pathologists. She has published more than 100 communications including scientific publications in high impact factor as Nature and NEJM, as well as publications in innovation in teaching and education. She is a past recipient of the ISN Fellowship Award and the Excellence in Fellowship Education Award from the University of Toronto.
