Elaine Bowes is a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and Advanced Level Nurse Practitioner in Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) at Kings College Hospital with 20 plus years’ experience in Peritoneal Dialysis. She is accredited with the Royal College of Nursing as an Advanced Level Nurse Practitioner in PD. She undertook training to complete PD access procedures and has been doing so independently since 2010. Elaine is a strong advocate of home based, patient centred and evidence-based practice that empowers Renal patients to take control and be involved whether through shared care or self-care. To this end she has worked with the NHS England Renal Services Transformation Programme and is a faculty member on UK PD Academy. She has also recently been invited to become a steering committee member on the ISN Saving Young Lives in AKI programme.
