Dr Ali Abu-Alfa is a tenured Professor of Medicine, and Chairperson of the Department of Internal Medicine at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He is the immediate past Head of the of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at AUB. He is the Director for the Human Research Protection Program at AUB. He is also a Professor Adjunct at Yale University in the Section of Nephrology. He is the current chair for the International Society of Nephrology Renal Disaster Preparedness Working Group. He is also the Chair for the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis – Middle East Chapter (ISPD). He served as the co-Chair for the Local Organizing and Scientific Program Committees for the just concluded ISPD2024 Global Congress held in Dubai, UAE, September 26-29, 2024.
