Dr. Augusto Cesar Santos Jr. is head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Adjunct Prof of Medicine at Faculdade Ciências Médicas de Minas Gerais and a clinical nephrologist at Hospital das Clínicas of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In 2010, received the Clinical Research Scholar Award from the Harvard Medical School. In 2014, was a guest researcher at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research and the National Institute of Health (NIDDK, Bethesda, USA). In 2016, he completed his PhD degree in Health Sciences. In 2019, was awarded the Building Capacity Bursaries by the Nuffield Department of Primary Care, Univ of Oxford. In 2021, received the ISN Mentorship Award. In 2022 received the ISN Ambassador Shield. In 2024, he completed the Global MBA program at Imperial College London. He is the former Chair of the ISN Education Social Media initiative. Current member of the World Kidney Day Steering Committee, ISN Transplantation and Advocacy Working Groups.
