Dr Dina Abdellatif is an internal medicine and nephrology consultant at Cairo University Hospital. She is the Secretary-General & President-Elect of the International Federation of Kidney Foundations—World Kidney Alliance (IFKF/WKA). She is also the president-elect of the Mediterranean Kidney Society (MKS). She graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1995 and started her nephrology career in 1999. She finished a Fellowship at the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) from February 2010 to August 2011 and spent 18 months at the Sheffield Kidney Institute in Sheffield, UK. Her main interests were peritoneal dialysis and home dialysis. She is very interested in public awareness and promoting screening and early detection of kidney disease. She has been the moderator of World Kidney Day in Egypt since 2007 and has participated in many public awareness and screening programs all over Egypt. She is currently a member of the World Kidney Day IFKF-WKA/ISN joint steering committee and actively participates in all related activities, such as scientific editorial, speaker/chairperson in the World Congress of Nephrology sessions, speaker in webinars/podcasts, etc. She actively participated in the organizing committee of several congresses and has been invited as a guest speaker at many local and international congresses. She has published in many international journals and has been a reviewer in several international Journals.
