Session description:
There are a number of myths and misconceptions about the use of diagnostic tests, their indications, interpretation, and application in clinical practice. This results in suboptimal utilization and low value care. In this session, global experts will deconstruct some of these misconceptions and provide clear guidance on the optimal use of these modalities in clinical practice.
Learning objectives:
In this session the participants will learn to:
Understand appropriate use of genetic testing for kidney disease  and kidney biopsies. Gain insight into working up a patient with suspected thrombotic microangiopathy and primary aldosteronism. Understand the biological variability of albuminuria and serum creatinine, to very commonly used tests.
