Kelsie Bogyo is a genetic counselor at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Clinically, she sees patients with constitutional disorders, primarily individuals who have kidney disease. She holds a faculty position as Lecturer in Genetic Counseling and is engaged in training and supervising students in the Columbia University genetic counseling graduate program. She also co-directs the Nephrogenetic clinical internship. Kelsie is a director and organizer for multiple educational initiatives, including the Internal Medicine Genetics Case Series and multiple seminars on incorporating genetics into clinical care. She also provides laboratory genetic counseling services, including variant curation and test utilization, for the Personalized Genomic Medicine clinical genetic testing laboratory at Columbia. Kelsie is involved in multiple research studies focused on understanding the genetic causes of kidney diseases, for which she primarily interprets genomic data and returns genetic results to participants and providers. Her research interests focus on understanding the barriers and facilitators to providing equitable clinical genetics and genetic counseling services.
