Dr.Sunita Bavanandan graduated from the University of Queensland Australia in December, 1991. She obtained her qualifications as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom in 1997 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh in 2007. From 2003-2004 she obtained further training at Leicester General Hospital, United Kingdom. She is the current Chair of the Malaysian National Renal Registry and contributes as an editor/author for chapters in the Malaysian Dialysis & Transplant Registry. She currently serves as the Honorary Secretary for the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology and is a member of the Steering Committee for the International Home Dialysis Consortium (IHDC). She is a Past President of the Malaysian Society of Nephrology, retired Head of the Department of Nephrology, Hospital Kuala Lumpur and retired National Head of Nephrology Services for the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She was a past Chair for the ISN OSEA Region and a past KDIGO Executive committee member. Special interests are in Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Diabetic Kidney Disease and Peritoneal Dialysis.
