Session description:
Open science concepts are revolutionizing how and where research can be done. The kidney research community now has global access to a rapidly growing knowledge base. This session will introduce the types of available data and how to access them. Most importantly, data mining tools will be presented, enabling non-expert users to easily extract critical knowledge for ongoing research efforts with just a few mouse clicks.
Learning objectives:
Understand the growing spectrum of big data sets now accessible to the kidney research community. Decide on attending a training hands on course at the Big Data Lab session. Understand the richness of datasets and data mining and research tools now available for the clinician scientist and basic researcher of kidney health and disease.
