Dr. Nalika GUNAWARDENA is the Regional Adviser for NCD in WHO South East Asia Region. She is a medical officer specialized in public health with MD Community Medicine degree from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and a MPH from Massey University of New Zealand. Prior to joining World Health Organization, she held the post of a merit Professor of Community Medicine in the University of Colombo. She has contributed to generate research evidence on Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown origin in Sri Lanka and is a member of the DEGREE Study Group of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine which research on Disadvantaged Populations at Risk of Decline in eGFR.
