Professor Madhukar Misra is currently a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Zbylut J Twardowski Distinguished Professor of Nephrology at the University of Missouri Columbia USA. He is also the Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship Program and Director for Acute and Chronic Dialysis at University of Missouri Columbia. Professor Misra is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, and the American College of Physicians. He is the Deputy Editor of Hemodialysis International and Associate Editor of Advances in Peritoneal Dialysis. His research interests include preservation of residual renal function on dialysis and alternative hemodialysis schedules. He has published over a hundred research papers in the field of Nephrology. He has authored several book chapters in prestigious textbooks of Nephrology. He has also edited two books in the field of dialysis. Professor Misra is a past President of the International Society for Hemodialysis (ISHD) and is currently the Director of Education for the ISHD. He is also the chair of the Hemodialysis section of the Annual Dialysis Conference, the largest multidisciplinary conference of dialysis professionals in the world. Professor Misra’s passion is to expand the reach of high-quality educational tools in nephrology and dialysis. He has organized several national and international courses to improve quality and enhance safety in kidney care across the world.
