Hyeong Cheon Park, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Medicine at Yonsei University College of Medicine, South Korea. He received both M.D. (1992) and Ph.D. (2000) from Yonsei University and has been working at Gangnam Severance Hospital for the last 22 years. Hyeong Cheon is a clinical nephrologist, professor, and advocate of social kidney health program. He has actively advocated delivery of “Better Dialysis Treatment for All” and his research focuses on anemia and iron therapy in CKD, hemodialysis therapy, sarcopenia in chronic kidney diseases as well as utilizing extracellular vesicles for promoting kidney regeneration. He was the KSN’s representative in APSN Continuous Medical Education (CME) Committee from 2019 to 2024 and served as Scientific Co-chair for 21st APCN, that was successfully held in Bangkok in conjunction with WCN 2023. In addition to his role at the KSN and APSN, Professor Park is the Deputy Chair of the ISN North and East Asia Regional Board. Here, he has been instrumental in promoting APSN within the ISN and has encouraged young scientists from the Asian-Pacific area to pursue their academic careers internationally through ISN's Sister Renal Centers and Fellowships Program SRC programs. He is also keen in recruiting young nephrologists from Asian-Pacific region to join ISN’s Young Nephrology Committee. As the current President of KSN and President-Elect of APSN, he wishes to foster collaborations with nephrology societies throughout the Asian-Pacific region.
