Albertien van Eerde is certified clinical geneticist since 2013, and obtained a PhD in genetics of congenital urinary tract abnormalities in 2011. As an associate professor research focusses on Translational Nephrogenetics at the Department of Genetics, UMC Utrecht, including serving as coordinator of the NFU and EU-accredited Expertise Centre for hereditary kidney diseases at UMCU. She is lead author of the Dutch Genetics Guideline for Nephrologists and co-author of the Guideline for Kidney Diseases and Pregnancy. Board member of the ERA WG Genes&Kidney and chair of ERKNET WG congenital malformations and ciliopathies. She is member of the ERKNET taskforce molecular diagnostics. She led the set-up of and coordinates the GeNepher data- and biobank for patients with genetic kidney disease or a suspicion thereof.
