Peter Rutherford is Global Head of World Wide Medical for Vantive. He qualified in Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 1986 and commenced training in academic nephrology, receiving PhD in 1994. He trained in Nephrology in UK and as MRC Travelling Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine, USA. From 1996 to 2007 he was Senior Lecturer, Consultant Physician at the University of Wales College of Medicine in Wrexham. He is Fellow and Visiting Professor at Wrexham University. In 2007 he moved to industry with Baxter as Medical Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. From 2015 Peter was Head of Integrated Market Access, Europe and Emerging Markets at IQVIA and Global Medical Lead for Rare Renal Disease at Vifor Pharma from 2017. In 2021 rejoined Baxter and now at Vantive is responsible for all medical aspects of new product development, global patient safety, physician engagement and evidence generation.
