Grace Kansiime Uganda

Dr. Grace Kansiime is a nephrologist, and researcher based in Uganda and currently a Fogarty Fellow at Harvard University School of Public Health. She serves as a Senior Lecturer and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda. Her work focuses on kidney disease epidemiology, implementation science, and the intersection of kidney disease with infectious conditions such as HIV and tuberculosis in resource-limited settings. Dr. Kansiime leads multiple longitudinal cohorts addressing NCDs and infection-related kidney disease and is actively involved in translating point-of-care diagnostics into routine care. Her research aims to advance equitable, context-appropriate kidney care in sub-Saharan Africa.
