Session Title: CKD in focus: Enhancing risk detection and management approaches
Organized by: Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH
Session Description:
CKD in focus: Enhancing risk detection and management approaches, a Boehringer Ingelheim
satellite symposium, provides an opportunity to recognize the clinical relevance of urine albumin-to- creatinine ratio (UACR) as a cardiovascular risk marker, understand how to implement end-to-end UACR testing across clinical practice, and evaluate the impact of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) dysregulation in cardiorenal pathophysiology.
Join Professor Pecoits-Filho and Professor Kushner who will explore UACR and the link to heart and kidney health; they will discuss the clinical value of UACR testing and share insights into current testing practices and approaches to optimize early detection and monitoring. Professor Tang will address the challenges associated with current chronic kidney disease (CKD) therapies followed by an overview of RAAS-associated disease mechanisms and appropriate management.
Following each topic, there will be an opportunity to interact with our faculty during a live panel discussion, chaired by Professor Masaomi Nangaku.
Learning Objectives:
⦁ Recognize the clinical relevance of UACR as an important CV risk marker
⦁ Understand how to implement optimized end-to-end use of UACR/UPCR testing across primary and secondary care
⦁ Evaluate the impact of RAAS dysregulation in cardiorenal pathophysiology and its role in guiding therapeutic approaches
