9 Feb 2025 11 a.m. 12 p.m.
Neelkamal Hall 305

Session description: The use of social media, including blogs, Twitter/X and now BlueSky, as well as podcasts and infographics has changed how medical education is available.  FOAMed, i.e free open access medical education, embodies this concept. Medical students and residents in particular, already do, and will increasingly rely on these formats of education.  They are available to anyone, with excellent teachers from across the world.  In this session, various formats and tools will be discussed along with their advantages and disadvantages.  Additionally, critical appraisal of published literature is an underappreciated and undertaught skill in the medical curriculum presently., which will also be covered.
Learning objectives: At the end of this presentation, the attendee will: Highlight nephrology-specific FOAMed activities. Stop believing published findings at face value. Understand the strengths and limitation of visual abstracts and infographics
