Session Description:
Experts from the ISN Emerging Leaders Program will discuss major disparaties in global kidney care due to variability in access to critical diagnostic testing, including basic pathology testing and its implementation in CKD screening programs, kidney biopsy and genetics. The session will explore existing gaps in the availability of diagnostics, barriers to equitable access, and practical steps forward to help address this situation.
Learning Objectives:
To examine global access to kidney diagnostics through international perspectives and review of published evidence. These diagnostics include basic pathology testing and screening programs to implement testing, as well as kidney biopsy analysis, and genetics.To explore barriers to improved access to kidney diagnostics at the clinician, site, healthcare system and international levels. To describe practical steps forward to improve access to kidney diagnostics.
