Dr. Marek Kollar graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, where he also completed his postgraduate studies with a focus on gastrointestinal cancers, particularly esophageal cancer. He is a consultant pathologist specializing in renal, transplant, and vascular pathology at the Clinical and Transplant Pathology Centre, Transplantation Centre, Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague. His research interests include native kidney diseases and transplant pathology. Dr. Kollar also serves as a PhD mentor and supervisor to postgraduate students at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. In addition, he works as a renal and transplant pathology consultant for Slovakia. He is a member of the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP, Cohort 3) of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), to which he was competitively selected. He has organized two nephropathology symposia in Czechia, including the first-ever renal pathology congress in the country.
