Session Description:
This session examines the complex interplay between the renal and respiratory systems, spanning from outpatient to critical care settings. We will explore the latest pathophysiologic insights and treatment strategies for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pulmonary-renal syndromes. Topics will also include anti-fibrotic therapies for kidney disease and the relationship between pulmonary infections and kidney injury in the ICU.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explore the pathophysiological connections between ARDS, pulmonary infections, and AKI.
2. Assess the renal implications of drug treatments for pulmonary fibrosis and their potential role in kidney fibrosis.
