Session Description:
This session reviews the current management of kidney disease in diabetic patients, evaluating recent advancements and their impact. Participants will explore new treatments, guidelines, and innovations, while addressing ongoing challenges and gaps in care to determine if recent developments signify a significant improvement. The session also examines the use of risk prediction equations in chronic kidney disease management. Participants will review existing models, their clinical applications, and potential advancements in prediction technology aimed at optimizing care. Additionally, the session emphasizes the need for a coordinated approach to combat kidney disease. It will cover successful multi sectoral initiatives, highlighting the roles of healthcare providers, policymakers, and other stakeholders in developing effective prevention strategies. Participants will gain insights into fostering cross-sector partnerships to enhance kidney disease prevention efforts
 
Learning Objectives: 

  1. To assess recent progress in managing kidney disease in diabetic patients, including new treatments and ongoing challenges and develop best practices based on multidisciplinary approaches
  2. To review and evaluate current CKD risk prediction models, explore emerging technologies, and integrate these models into clinical practice. 
  3. To identify key stakeholders, analyse successful multi sectoral initiatives and develop strategies for collaboration, implement prevention approaches, and promote public awareness.
