Ms Gautami Tadimalla is an award winning Indian film and television actor, producer, technician and public health advocate. At the age of 35, Ms Gautami was diagnosed with breast cancer and her battle awakened her to the realities of public health infrastructure in India. She founded the NGO Life Again Foundation leveraging her celebrity to raise awareness about critical health issues. Its mandate today encompasses health, education and safe food for holistic empowerment of society. Ms Gautami has conducted multiple cancer awareness campaigns and health camps for NCD screening. Her focus is on the impact and challenges of NCD epidemics in the country, particularly CKD. Ms Gautami is a TEDx speaker and has lectured at educational institutions, corporate entities and social organisations on physical and mental health, gender equality and self-motivation. She speaks extensively to youngsters across socio-economic demographics to inspire and motivate and equally to understand their perspectives, goals and challenges. In 2022, Ms Gautami received an honorary Doctorate in social welfare and community health from Asia Metropolitan University, Malaysia and appointed Adjunct Professor.
