Griet Glorieux was trained as a Biologist and obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences in 2001 from the Ghent University in Belgium. She became an ass. Professor at the Ghent University in 2012. G. Glorieux was accepted in the laboratory of Nephrology of the Ghent University Hospital, Belgium by Prof Dr. Ringoir (1994-1996) and worked under Prof Dr. Lameire (1996-2005) and Prof Dr Vanholder (2005-2014 ) and is currently coordinator of the Nephrology lab (Prof Dr Van Biesen). G. Glorieux is co-chair and active member of the European uremic toxin workgroup (EUTox), a workgroup of ESAO, and MC member of the Cost Action PerMediK and a member of the Ghent Gut Inflammation Group (GGIG; https://www.ggig.be/ ). G. Glorieux is coordinator of the EU-ITN project STRATEGY-CKD (https://www.strategy-ckd.eu/). The main research topics of interest are uremic toxicity and the gut-kidney axis. G. Glorieux published 201 papers in peer reviewed journals of which 4 are highly cited in WoS.
