Dr. Luxia Zhang is the Deputy Dean of the National Institute of Health Data Science at Peking University and a Professor in the Renal Division of Peking University First Hospital. She received her MD from Peking University and MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. Her research focuses on the epidemiology, risk factors, and management of kidney disease in China, and her work has generated important national evidence with broad international impact. She has also expanded her research to the use of big data and artificial intelligence in chronic disease management. Her studies have been published in leading journals. Dr. Zhang has been listed among Stanford’s “World’s Top 2% Scientists” and Elsevier’s “China Highly Cited Scholars” (2020–2024) and was elected a Fellow of the International Society of Nephrology in 2024. She also serves as Deputy Editors for Health Data Science, a Science Partner Journal.
