Dr Barny Hole is a kidney doctor and health-services researcher at the University of Bristol, UK. His work examines how systems can balance prevention, disease management, and quality-of-life–focused care for older adults. His clinical work seeks to integrate the practice and philosophies of geriatrics and palliative care into kidney medicine. Barny uses mixed methods to explore what is important to people living with kidney disease and other long term conditions, and the trade-offs that people will make when planning for their futures.
