Dr. Hladunewich completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alberta, her internal medicine training at the University of Toronto, and then proceeded to complete her Critical Care and Nephrology Fellowships at Stanford University Medical Center. In addition to her research training in glomerular physiology, she completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Investigation also at Stanford University. Dr. Hladunewich is a Professor at the University of Toronto. Since arriving at Sunnybrook, she developed a clinical and research program in women’s health and rare glomerular diseases, garnering a national and international reputation. However, her most important priority will always be patient care. Dr. Hladunewich is a recognized expert in the diagnosis and management of kidney disease in pregnancy as well as glomerulonephritis, and was inducted as a 2020 Master Clinician in the University of Toronto Department of Medicine Academy of Master Clinicians. She is presently the Physician-in-Chief at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and is the Ontario Renal Network Medical Lead for Glomerulonephritis and Specialty Clinics.
