Giorgina Barbara Piccoli graduated from the Medical School and Post Graduated Nephrology school in the University of Torino, Italy. Since 1999 she holds the position of University researcher. Since 2007 to 2015 she set up a Nephrology Unit in the san Luigi Hospital, and was the teacher of the Nephrology Course (Aggregate Professor). Since February 2016 she is head of the Nephrology in the Le Mans Hospital in France. Since 2022 she is associate professor of Nephrology, Angers University. Main clinical activities: CKD with particular regard to diabetic and elderly patients, low-protein diets, home hemodialysis and self-care dialysis, analysis of costs and quality of life, pregnancy and CKD. The research activity mainly consists in clinical studies, on different issues of CKD, mainly diet and pregnancy, quality of life and ethical aspects of nephrology, including green and sustainable nephrology. She is editor in chief of Journal of Nephrology. She is Author or co-author of over 400 papers indexed on Medline.
