Certified social worker and coordinator of the promotion of health and employment support, specializing in patient support, advocacy, and policy development.He leverages his lived experience of chronic kidney disease and dialysis to drive policy change and bridge the gap between people living with conditions and the healthcare sector.He currently serves on several key organizations, including: Member of the Clinical Trial Review Committee at the Institute of Science Tokyo Hospital; Member of the Ethics Committee for the Japanese Society of Home Hemodialysis; and Member of the Patient Organization Advisory Board for the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA). After obtaining the Certified Social Worker qualification following 14 years of service at Sony Corporation, he embarked on a career in patient support. In 2010, he founded Patienthood, a company dedicated to supporting individuals affected by kidney disease and dialysis. This initiative evolved into the general incorporated association PPeCC (Power to the People with Chronic Conditions), established in 2019, with Patienthood being merged by PPeCC in 2020. PPeCC focuses on supporting people across various chronic conditions. From lectures, training programs, to advisory services, he contributes his unique experiential perspective to the field, maintaining extensive connections with healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical companies, and patient organizations. Born in 1968. He was diagnosed with chronic nephritis at age three and began dialysis at age 18 due to chronic kidney failure. In 2008, he underwent a left nephrectomy due to kidney cancer and is certified as a person with a physical disability.
