Rulan S. Parekh, MD, MS, FRCP(C), FASN
Dr. Rulan S. Parekh is Vice President of Academics at Women’s College Hospital, Staff Nephrologist at Women’s College Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, and Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at the University of Toronto. An internationally recognized clinician scientist, she has advanced understanding of the genetic and cardiovascular risks underlying kidney disease across diverse populations.
She has authored more than 260 peer reviewed publications, with continuous research funding from the NIH, CIHR, and other major agencies. A dedicated mentor, Dr. Parekh has trained over 100 students and fellows who now hold prominent clinical and academic roles worldwide.
Her contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the ASN Barbara T. Murphy Lifetime Achievement Award, the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland Research Award, and the Advising, Mentoring, and Teaching Research Award from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is also an elected member of several distinguished medical and pediatric honor societies.
