Seung Hyeok Han, MD, PhD, is Professor of Internal Medicine at Yonsei University College of Medicine and Director of the Institute of Kidney Disease Research at Severance Hospital in Seoul, Korea. His work integrates advanced clinical nephrology, academic leadership, and impactful research aimed at improving outcomes in patients with kidney disease.
Dr. Han has led major regional and international scientific programs, serving as Chair of the Scientific Program Committee for the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology and the Korean Society of Nephrology, and he currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. His research focuses on CKD progression, glomerular diseases, and BP/cardiovascular disease in CKD. As a lead investigator for the KNOW‑CKD (KoreaN Cohort Study for Outcomes in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease) cohort, he has published extensively on BP, cardiovascular complications, and metabolic and inflammatory pathways. He is also actively engaged in global clinical trials of novel therapeutics for glomerular diseases.
