Online learning platforms have evolved at a rapid clip, reshaping medical education—especially in nephrology, where sharing knowledge across borders and keeping skills sharp are essential. The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) has taken the lead with a clear, easy-to-use virtual education platform built on a rich webinar lineup, helping knowledge flow freely across borders and budgets—whether you’re in a busy city clinic or a quiet rural lab.

Objective: To outline the design, development, and impact of the ISN's virtual nephrology education program, with an emphasis on webinars as the building block for cornerstone for ongoing learning, global knowledge exchange, and professional growth. From 2022 to 2025, the ISN Webinar Series was designed which helped fill gaps in subspecialty training , offering clear updates on clinical nephrology, dialysis, transplantation, and the latest in kidney research. Webinars were selected with regional representation, thematic diversity, and reconciliation with global kidney health priorities. Learning content was blended with interactive features—polls, case discussions, and post-session quizzes—to increase participation and retention. Engagement metrics, post-webinar surveys, and follow-up learning analytics were evaluated to assess reach, satisfaction, and educational impact. These webinars are Live tweeted by ISN Social media team using curated hashtags, extending educational reach to a broader digital audience

We tracked participation numbers, gathered post-webinar surveys, and analyzed follow-up learning data to gauge reach, satisfaction, and how much the sessions actually taught—down to whether people remembered a key example. Over the past four years, ISN hosted more than 120 webinars, spanning subjects from glomerular disease to the latest in tele‑nephrology—sometimes diving into case studies as detailed as a single patient’s lab chart. The program connected with people in more than 120 countries, a clear sign of its fair access and inclusive reach.>90% satisfaction was reported through feedback, with participants highlighting relevance of content, expert faculty, and interactivity of learning.. Repeated attendance suggested sustained engagement. Integration with ISN academy ,facilitated archived access, enabling asynchronous learning and longitudinal knowledge reinforcement. The feedback highlighted the model’s strongest points—its accessibility, diversity, interactive approach, and the way it fosters mentorship, like a seasoned guide offering steady knowledge. Regional teams tackled time zone hurdles and local nuances by working together and holding multilingual sessions, sometimes late into the night. The model offers a scalable blueprint for other medical specialties looking for equitable and scalable education.

The ISN webinar model proved to be an effective, equitable, and scalable approach to continuing nephrology education. Its integration and accessibility, offers a replicable framework for virtual learning and participation, across regions and time zones. The model’s success offers a replicable framework for other medical disciplines seeking to deliver inclusive, interactive, and outcome-oriented virtual education worldwide.
