To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of telitacicept as an adjuvant therapy for lupus nephritis (LN).
Eighteen LN patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College from June 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were treated with telitacicept combined with the standard regimen for 24 weeks, followed by a 1-year follow-up. Before and after treatment, the levels of serum immunoglobulin (Ig) A, IgM, IgG, complement C3, and C4, the number of lymphocytes and neutrophils in peripheral blood, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (Scr), 24-hour urine protein quantification (24-h UTP), adverse reactions, and recurrence rate were evaluated.
The total effective rate was 83% (15/18). After treatment, the levels of IgA, IgG, and IgM were significantly lower than those before treatment, while the levels of complement C3 and C4 were significantly higher (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of BUN, Scr, ALT, and 24-h UTP were significantly lower than those before treatment. During the treatment period, the incidence of adverse reactions was 11.1% (2/18). During the follow-up period, the recurrence rate was 5.55% (1/18).
Telitacicept can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of LN, effectively inhibit inflammatory responses, improve renal function, enhance the body's immunity, reduce disease activity and recurrence rate, and is safe and reliable.
