Preparing your E-Poster
Please review the E-Poster format requirements carefully when preparing your E-Poster. Should your E-Poster not meet the mentioned requirements, it may not be displayed as described above.
E-Poster Submission Deadline
Please prepare and upload your E-Poster no later than March 14, 2026 11.59PM CET. After this date, you will no longer be able to prepare and upload your E-poster and it will not be displayed and accessible on the congress website.
Please follow the instructions below to input your abstract title.
Abstract titles should be brief and reflect the content of the abstract.
People living with maintenance haemodialysis have high mortality due to cardiovascular events which are related with vascular calcification. Serum Fetuin-A level was related with abdominal aortic calcification.
After getting informed consent, blood was taken for serum fetuin-A level estimation. Serum fetuin-A level was measured by the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The reference range is 303-671(μg/mL) (R&D Systems, Inc.) (U.S.A). Lateral lumber spine Xray was taken and abdominal aortic calcification score (AAC) was calculated; severity is determined with Kaupilla score (0-24). Kaupilla score ‘1 and above’ is taken as calcification present.
A total of 96 people living with maintenance haemodialysis were enrolled. The mean AAC score was 3.64 ± 4.86 and 61.5% (60/96) of paticipants had positive AAC score. A quarter 24.7% (24/96) had significant AAC score (score ³ 5); and 37.5% (36/96) had AAC score ‘Zero’. Mean age was 51 years. Mean Fetuin-A level was 412.3 μg/ml ± 170.5 μg/ml. And mean Fetuin-A level for those with AAC score ‘Zero’ was the highest (545.6 μg/ml ± 84.4 μg/ml) whereas it was the lowest (181.2 μg/ml ± 90.0 μg/ml) in those with significant AAC score (AAC score ³ 5). There was a statistically significant negative association between AAC score and serum fetuin-A levels (rho = - 0.854, p < 0.001).
