KDIGO 2024 now frames RAAS inhibition, SGLT2 inhibitors, finerenone and GLP‑1 receptor agonists as complementary nephroprotective therapies for albuminuric type 2 diabetes–associated CKD. Used in combination and layered on top of standard care, these agents deliver additive reductions in albuminuria and major kidney and cardiovascular events, but uptake in low‑resource settings remains constrained by cost, listing, and prescribing capacity. This session bridges mechanism, trial evidence, and access architecture in a single arc.
