As populations age worldwide, preserving the kidney's capacity for repair has become a major challenge in nephrology. Increasing evidence suggests that impaired repair following injury, rather than the injury itself, is a key driver of CKD progression in the aged kidney. This session will explore recent advances in kidney aging, repair and regeneration, highlighting emerging mechanisms including cellular senescence, regulated cell death, and tissue remodeling, together with insights from single-cell technologies, spatial transcriptome, and translational research.
