Introduction:
Everyday cases in Nephrology (ECNeph) is an unique platform on X platform (formerly Twitter) to discuss regarding challenging cases seen in clinical practice. ECNeph was introduced in 2017, though it kickstarted with regular sessions from June 2021. This platform offers a blend of learning and teaching through engaging clinical scenarios, providing the global nephrology community with a valuable opportunity to interact and learn in an evidence-based manner.
To analyse the engagement of ECNeph cases
Methods:
We track data from X analytics to analyze engagement, impressions, and participation on the ECNeph platform between the period March 2023 - July 2024. An interesting case from the global community is chosen, and the ISN social media team prepares educational slides. On the last Thursday of every month, from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM India time, the ISN educational team presents case details on X, while the presenter engages the audience with information and discussion.
Results:
We observed that the majority of ECNeph chats focused on clinical nephrology and transplantation. Male discussants slightly outnumbered female participants (8:7). The highest number of tweets was recorded in April 2023, with 207 tweets. The topics in clinical nephrology held in February 2023 and July 2024 attracted the most participants. The sessions in January 2023 and May 2024 generated the maximum number of impressions. Most cases discussed were presented by experts from India, followed by Canada.
Conclusions:
ECNeph is an excellent platform for case discussion on X. It fosters the trainees in approaching cases encountered in daily nephrology practice. A more global and diverse representation would benefit the social media participants in a robust manner
