Session Description:
This session will focus on innovative and sustainable strategies for early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD) at the community level. Early detection is crucial in preventing the progression of CKD and reducing its burden on individuals and healthcare systems. However, access to early diagnosis is often limited, particularly in underserved and rural areas. We will also explore the critical role of patient partnership in transforming kidney care. Recognizing that patients are central to the success of any healthcare initiative, we will discuss effective strategies for integrating patients as active partners in their care.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the critical role of early detection in preventing CKD progression and reducing long-term health and economic burdens.
  2. Learn about successful community-based approaches to CKD screening that can be adapted to various settings, with a focus on sustainability and equity.
  3. Identify common barriers to early CKD detection in marginalized communities and discuss strategies to overcome these challenges through culturally sensitive and community-driven initiatives.
  4. Understand the importance of engaging local stakeholders, including patients, community leaders, and healthcare providers, in designing and implementing sustainable early detection programs.
