Session Description:
Our understanding of genetic kidney diseases, genetic risks and the importance of genetic counseling has grown tremendously over the last decade. This session will review the latest advances in our understanding of rare genetic diseases, how genome wide association studies can provide clues to pathogenesis, an update in X-linked genetic diseases in women and roles for prenatal counseling for genetic kidney diseases.
Learning Objectives:
Identify how prenatal and peri-implantation genetic counseling can be useful to patients. Review recent trends in rare genetic kidney diseases in India. Understand how GWAS studies help us understand pathomechanisms of complex kidney diseases and traits.
